Listening to the radio last night while driving home from work I tuned in to 5AA to hear Ken ‘KG” Cunningham and Tony Cornes talking about the success of the television show ‘Postcards’. They thought part of it’s success could be attributed to it being a ‘comforting’ show about South Australia and also because South Australian’s are so loyal to their State. Continue reading…

It’s trendy to be the same

Trends are people, social contexts, economies and companies in movement. They are hard to get, tricky to understand, and a challenge to share. But trends mean business. The earlier and [more importantly] the better you get it, the smartest and the safest your move. But the world has changed and continues to change. No longer are we living in the relatively isolated social or cultural communities which once existed before the Internet, cable television and mobile phones with built in computers and cameras took over our lives. Adelaide festival season for everyone

It’s festival time! Flick though the numerous guides, book your tickets and have fun. Figures released by two of the larger events last year – The Fringe and Clipsal 500 – announced massive attendance estimates. The Fringe recorded 900,000 people attending ticketed and free shows. The Clipsal 500 estimated an attendance figure of around 270,000. No wonder Adelaide comes alive at Festival time.
A sizeable chunk of the festival goers are locals. Adelaidians love the festival season. It’s that time of the year when the city comes alive. We welcome visitors and boast about what South Australia has to offer. Continue reading…

Building a consumer centric enterprise

We are living in the Information Age. With the Internet, pay-TV and emerging technologies we have never had greater access to information from all corners of the globe. While this promises a new era of enlightenment, it more often creates headaches from the continually futile search for relevant information. The frustrations are even further exasperated for business. Never before have managers had greater access to information with the potential to assist with more effectively meeting the needs of consumers - research, CRM data, website usage statistics and sales data etc. Yet, it all just seems too hard.
