Steps for building a creative office

In season three of BBC’s The Office character Tim Canterbury explains how the only thing he has in common with his work collegues is that they share the same bit of carpet for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Fortunately, I dont have such a grim assessment of my workplace. Luckily, the Square Holes office is a hub for creativity and inspiration.
I found this article 10 steps to a more creative office by Jeffrey Baumgartner. I have adapted this to what I believe are the 5 most important steps to becoming a creative office. These include:
1. Establish trust, creative people will only share their ideas with those they trust.
2. Create a means of communicating ideas within the office, i.e a creative wall where anyone can attach a picture, paste an article, etc.
3. Reward good ideas, whether that be a gift voucher or at least acknowledgement from the CEO/MD.
4. But, don’t punish or laugh at bad ideas.
5. Inspire staff, and great ideas will follow.
